The chilly September weather did not stop Wing Lee from bringing Jake to the 43rd Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018. Jake is a fussy grey feline, but he sticks to his owner’s side. The duo attracts many curious gazes at TIFF.

“I named him after Jake Gyllenhaal,” explains Lee. He also calls his furry friend ‘Handsome Jake’.

Lee is a costume cutter in the TV and film industry. At last year’s TIFF, his work appeared in the multiple award-winning film “Downsizing” with Matt Damon. His latest involvement is with a TV show “The Boys” set to release in 2019.

“It’s great, it’s very diverse, international. It draws people from all over the world,” said Lee.

On the third day of the film festival he hopes to catch a glimpse of Academy Award winner Robert Redford. “He is a real legend”, said Lee.

Lee has attended TIFF between six and 10 times, but today is the first time for Jake. He is only six months old, but Handsome Jake is sure to attend many future TIFFs with his owner.
